Wanganui 16th March

Posted By: Shaun

With my swinger away i got Gordy 11p to swing for the night….  With the track a liitle rough and of gate 1, it was all go, took the lead in the first corner and held for two laps,, then mick and blink 35v got past on the pit corner, so finished 2nd….   Race 2, now the pole line was wet, got gate 3 and with another primo start, followed 35v around a slippery track, after 3 laps tried the wide line and somehow got around them on the top corner to grab the lead and hold on for first…  Race 3…… Not sure if the Wanga boys were scared of Gordan and I or wat the race was called off, so we were not allowed the chequed flag HAHA…….. Cheers Gordy for a good job on the side (it was about time) we got to race together  and thanks Sally for the kill switch, as no go with out it…. C u all at the Hawkes Bay on Friday night  Steve  42p

Palmy 15th March

First of all, thanks to Mike Zachan, for the chance to have a ride on a multi and for Shaun for swinging, but yeah lets try at the practice track next time HAHA

Race 1…. got 6, not a good start and going in to the corner last, makes it very hard to  collect  points, so followed the field home for 5th..    Race 2…. B grade, better start to get the lead and held on to win the race..      Race 3…. Top 6, gate 3 had another good start, first down past the grandstand, only to have Handbag and Sally go around us, going into the pit corner, then all of a sudden, the bike found another lot of power, so it could hook on to Sallys back and try and go with them…… then came Ramsey and Mad dog charging on thru the inside, with other bikes right behind me, I went wide in the last corner, just to let Mark and Gordy laugh there way past to the finish line….

Sorry missed a few meetings….

Hawkes Bay 8th March……  Missed the first race as I got my times wrong and the meeting started at 6pm  not 7pm..     Race 2  missed the start and had to follow the others, just managed to sneek thru for a 3rd on the last corner…   Race 3  put some more air in the back tyre , to try and lose some of the drive, but still couldnt get the bike round corners smoothly, so 3rd again….. Oh well better luck next week in Palmy…..

Teams racing 9 bikes, 3 Palmy, 3 Auckland, 3 Wanganui…….
An interesting nights racing, the track was a little bumpy but rideable, RACE ONE Auck vs Wangas, and yes it was like teams racing with lots of contact, this was won by Wangas… RACE TWO Palmy vs Auck got a great start, to take the lead with 49A hard on my back ended up 1st then 49a, 37a, 97p, 45p… RACE 3 Palmy vs Wangas not such a good race for Palmy with Wangas 1st 2nd and 3rd FINAL race Wangas vs Palmy, with only 2 Palmy bikes left 49a hopped into our team to help us out, only to be blamed for all the trouble, during the race. 35v lost his swinger and a restart was had, only to have 49A spin out in the pit corner, as he came back for restart had a bit of trouble with the Wanga riders charging his bike and breaking his fearing.. (Wats this shit about guys) and the race was called off, before someone was hurt. This causing the crowd to run to the pits to see the outcome of the abuse being given out… On getting home and watching the video footage, I dont know wat the prob was… Looks to me that the Wanga bikes owe 49A an apology, if not a new fearing……… Hopefully the new year will cool some tempers…… See you at the New Zealand champs at Gisbourne on the 11th and 12th of Jan.

As always a good show of bikes turned up for the hottly contended Manawatu Champs…..
Race one.. All on into the first lap, only to have red lights come on, as u all know 11P (the wheely king) had an oops… On restart got the primo start only to have red lights back on again. Start 3, spent the first corner trying to hold out 2NZ, only to have them shoot past on the straight, following them home for 2nd.
Race two.. Gate 5 again, good start and held on for 1st to make the repercharge, which was four bikes running off to find the top two to then go on to the finals. Didnt have a good start and there was no way thru. The six bikes in the final, put on a good display of racing, Congrats to 37A taking out there first Man champs, 3NZ 2nd and 2NZ 3rd. 42P 8th HA HA

Palmy 8th Dec 2007 Pairs racing…

Posted By: Shaun

With the pairs already been sorted out, we were paired with 97P (Mike and Hayden) went out for a look lap, Hells Bells (what happened to the track guys) It was rough as a bears bum.

Race 1 This race was run with Mark and I taking out 1st place and Mike and Hayden running 2nd, we were sitting good on points..
Race 2 Some bikes pulled out because of the rough track, so the pairs racing was scrapped, but the racing carried on, great start took the lead only to have the lights come on due to tape problems. Had a flag start with 35v getting the mean jump, got to 2nd only to have 52w (Stu and Ritchie) pass down the grand stand straight, held on for 3rd place..

Race 3 Down to one heat, of gate 1, 46b getting a good gate to take the lead in the first corner and hold on, with the track being so rough to try any passing (not that we had the chance) we came home in 2nd place
Well done to Mark(swinger), who seems to be getting the feel of how the bike gets around. Things are starting to feel a bit smoother now (keep it up Mark). It was good to see the bikes all up the right way and still going with the track in that condition…
